Along with the lowering of cost for accessible products over the years, from insanely expensive to still expensive, but at least you don’t have to ponder selling a kidney or your first born either. The other welcomed trend is the shrinking of wearable devices that the disabled can use for greater independence.

I mean, I was never keen on strapping on device X, Y or Z walking around looking like Boba Fett or some sort of storm trooper from Star Wars just to magnify the image of something or to better enhance my mobility.

The less obtrusive the better.

There are many products for the visually impaired that use AR glasses. Perhaps services like aiRa could use them.

At first when the article talked about privacy issues I was surprised they didn’t use bone conduction rather than open headphones for the audio but I guess the audio with bone conduction isn’t good enough for Bose.

How long before One set of Augmented Reality standards will eventually win out and become the De facto standard that everyone uses?
