Help needed scanning iTunes gift card to my account

Hi List,

I purchased one of those iTunes gift cards from Amazon over the Black Friday
weekend to get the 20% discount. I know I've seen many posts here in the
past about scanning an iTunes gift card to one's account but I can't for the
life of me figure out the steps to do so. Can someone please post specific
instructions on how to get this iTunes gift card into my account? I see it
has one of those films that must be removed in order to access the magic
code.

Thanks in advance.

you might have to enter your Apple ID password before you can redeem your gift card.

Donna,

Thanks so much for these detailed instructions. They worked like a charm. My mistake was I went to the iTunes Store instead of the Apps Store when trying to figure it out on my own. The camera picked up what it needed without much effort on my part and when I swiped afterward, Voiceover told me my account was credited the amount of the card. Easy, peasy with your excellent instructions.

Hi Alan ok first you will remove the film and then hold the card so that the camra on the phone is pointed at the coad. It will vibrate and add the amount to your account once it sees the coad. I would also recommend beaing in the eye tunes app wile doing this. Hth. From Mich.
