a question about favorite radio apps

I've heard about the radio app just called radio, but in searching for it there's a radio.net and a radio.com, so I don't know which one that it was that I heard about, where you could go to different radio stations. It would be interesting to hear about other favorite radio apps. Thank you.

I have the app radio.ccom, and I listen to that everyday. With that app you can select which news station you want to listen to, and it has several different stations to pick from. That app also has different music stations as well, and also has sport stations. I downloaded it from the app store. You can always download it to try it, from the app store, and if you don’t like it, you can just delete it from your phone.

Thank you, Janet, and everyone else concerning the radio apps. As I was saying there was a radio app that I had heard about that was just called radio, and when we searched the app store we found radio.com and radio.net. We did try radio.com, but we weren't too crazy about it. Maybe we'll look into radio.net. The radio.com app is free. It would be great to find an app that you could go to different radio stations, not just locally, but all over the world, as you could do on the computer with sites like radio locator. I was just wondering if there are any free radio apps where you could go to radio stations, as you can on tune in and now I can't think of the other app that will do that? The radio.com does have podcasts too, if anyone would like to try it, so that part was interesting too. thank you.

The thing is, everybody is on different platforms.

For US if you want access to all the different groups different stations, you’ll need iHeartRadio, Radio.com, TuneIn radio, and maybe the Radio Puffs app.

Yes. Everybody wants you to use their own app.

You have to actually know which group owns which station to know which app to launch.

I’m a radio geek, and I have to think of this. This can do nothing but confuse anybody normal.

And I don’t know every market in this country!!

For US if you want access to all the different groups different stations, you’ll need iHeartRadio, Radio.com, TuneIn radio, and maybe the Radio Puffs app.

Yes. Everybody wants you to use their own app.

You have to actually know which group owns which station to know which app to launch.

I’m a radio geek, and I have to think of this. This can do nothing but confuse anybody normal.

As I was saying there was a radio app that I had heard about that was just called radio, and when we searched the app store we found radio.com and radio.net. We did try radio.com, but we weren't too crazy about it. Maybe we'll look into radio.net. The radio.com app is free. It would be great to find an app that you could go to different radio stations, not just locally, but all over the world, as you could do on the computer with sites like radio locator. I was just wondering if there are any free radio apps where you could go to radio stations, as you can on tune in and now I can't think of the other app that will do that? The radio.com does have podcasts too, if anyone would like to try it, so that part was interesting too. thank you.

In my opinion, the best general-purpose radio listening app is tune-in radio. It has both free and paid versions. Besides being able to search for specific stations, there is a lot of sports, news, talk, and other categories. The TuneIn premium version, which costs 9.95 a month, adds professional sports, and programing similar to XM radio. If I only could have one radio-listening app, it would be TuneIn.

But the app I still use most often is Ootunes. It was written specificly for Apple products, it is easy to use, and its developer seems very caring about his subscribers, even though Ootunes is not his primary focus. I don't think it offers the range of different programing as TuneIn, but Ootunes is the one I use most. It is not free, I don't remember how much it is, being that I have had it for years, but I would buy it again.

Truth is, TuneIN is one of those ones that most other countries use, but not the US . at least not the major players, but smaller radio groups in the US do use them.

In my opinion, the best general-purpose radio listening app is tune-in radio. It has both free and paid versions. Besides being able to search for specific stations, there is a lot of sports, news, talk, and other categories. The TuneIn premium version, which costs 9.95 a month, adds professional sports, and programing similar to XM radio. If I only could have one radio-listening app, it would be TuneIn.



But the app I still use most often is Ootunes. It was written specificly for Apple products, it is easy to use, and its developer seems very caring about his subscribers, even though Ootunes is not his primary focus. I don't think it offers the range of different programing as TuneIn, but Ootunes is the one I use most. It is not free, I don't remember how much it is, being that I have had it for years, but I would buy it again.

This isn’t true. I live in the U.S & all of my local radio stations are in TuneIn. I also have several stations saved from other states saved that I frequently travel too. I have Pandora & Iheart but prefer to listen to TuneIn.

Then you must live in a very small market without the big 5.

iHeartRadio stations as well as all the former CBS Radio stations and entercom stations do not stream on TuneIn.

There are other groups that do not stream on TuneIn either.

In my opinion, the best general-purpose radio listening app is tune-in radio. It has both free and paid versions. Besides being able to search for specific stations, there is a lot of sports, news, talk, and other categories. The TuneIn premium version, which costs 9.95 a month, adds professional sports, and programing similar to XM radio. If I only could have one radio-listening app, it would be TuneIn.



But the app I still use most often is Ootunes. It was written specificly for Apple products, it is easy to use, and its developer seems very caring about his subscribers, even though Ootunes is not his primary focus. I don't think it offers the range of different programing as TuneIn, but Ootunes is the one I use most. It is not free, I don't remember how much it is, being that I have had it for years, but I would buy it again.

Arnold, Janet, and everyone, between last night and to night we got the free version of iheart, tunein, ootunes which we paid for which was $4.99 radio.com, and there was another radio app called simple radio which we got sort of accidentally which has lots of commercials and it's free. do you have less commercials popping up with the paid versions of the apps, such as with iheart and tunein. So far we really like iheart and tune in, and we like ootunes as well which we purchased. I think it was on tunein I was able to go to the local talk station in London, england, and the talk station in sydney, austrailia. I haven't had a chance to see if I could get these 2 stations on ootunes, the one I just bought, but I'll try it after I go through some messages. We also got hulu about 2 or 3 months ago, and it was great to hear about the lower price that was on for yesterday at 99 cents, but we're paying about $12 a month, so can you call hulu on the phone to look into this more? thank you for that information. The other adio app which we've had for quite a while now is the xm radio app, and the tv app for our cox cable, both are verry accessible and we love using these apps.

As I was saying there was a radio app that I had heard about that was just called radio, and when we searched the app store we found radio.com and radio.net. We did try radio.com, but we weren't too crazy about it. Maybe we'll look into radio.net. The radio.com app is free. It would be great to find an app that you could go to different radio stations, not just locally, but all over the world, as you could do on the computer with sites like radio locator. I was just wondering if there are any free radio apps where you could go to radio stations, as you can on tune in and now I can't think of the other app that will do that? The radio.com does have podcasts too, if anyone would like to try it, so that part was interesting too. thank you.

Janet, I will let you know if I do find such an app. I didn't realize how involved it could be as far as networks as the person was explaining in the other message. If you're into talk radio, I wanted to tell you about my very favorite station,, and it is called lbc. Lbc is a local talk station in london, so you hear the local people calling into the shows. There's 2 stations for lbc, the talk radio with callers calling into the shows, and on the beginning of the hour I think it is you hear the local news for about 4 or 5 minutes, and the all news talk for the other one. I haven't listened to it in a long time, but I can get it through the radio sites on the computer. I even have some favorite stations from austrailia, and it would be so neat if I could listen to them through the iphone. They have as silly as commercials as we have here, and it's so neat to hear the local people call into the shows.

Thank you, Janet, and everyone else concerning the radio apps. As I was saying there was a radio app that I had heard about that was just called radio, and when we searched the app store we found radio.com and radio.net. We did try radio.com, but we weren't too crazy about it. Maybe we'll look into radio.net. The radio.com app is free. It would be great to find an app that you could go to different radio stations, not just locally, but all over the world, as you could do on the computer with sites like radio locator. I was just wondering if there are any free radio apps where you could go to radio stations, as you can on tune in and now I can't think of the other app that will do that? The radio.com does have podcasts too, if anyone would like to try it, so that part was interesting too. thank you.

radio.com station."

I've heard about the radio app just called radio, but in searching for
it there's a radio.net and a radio.com, so I don't know which one that
it was that I heard about, where you could go to different radio
stations. It would be interesting to hear about other favorite radio
apps. Thank you.

Steve, thanks. We did get the radio.com app, and the other app we got tonight was th otr app, which I had forgotten to mention in the other message about the radio apps we got. I can't remember now, which app it was but I was disappointed that either radio.com or tunein didn't get some of the new york stations, but with having some of the other apps, I think it was both iheart and ootunes both got some of the new york stations I tried, so that was great to find. So as one person was saying on here it's good to have more than one of these apps. With having about 5 of these apps only for 2 days, it gets a bit confusing what I was able to hear from which one. We deleted simple radio, but we're in the process of getting that again and give it another chance, it just had so many commercials.
