Hey guys,

OK, i need your help. I think i'm doing everything right. I got this
apple tv a few months ago and am just now hooking it up. I had a room
all ripped apart, and finally got the tv setup so i plugged in the
apple tv into the actual tv, and it didn't switch inputs on me. so i
hit the input button. Of course i can't see the screen of the tv so i
don't know if it switched. I'm hitting the top part of the remote 3
times to activate voice-over, but nothing is coming up. Any ideas
guys?
I don't even know what kind of tv this is, but it's a flat screen, i'm
sure i can have someone look at it.
I plugged the power into the apple TV, and the HDMI cable. Any other ideas?

Thanks,
Jed

Hi

You'll need to get someone sighted to switch the inputs for you.
Generally speaking the input button opens a menu as opposed to
switching to an input so as per your message just pressing the input
button won't have changed anything on your TV.

Cheers,
Ben.

Hi. It’s the top button on the left that you want to hit. Not the top of the remote. Do you want to tap that top button on the left three times in that will bring up the menu where you can turn on voiceover and also audio description. I assume this is the newer AppleTV. Usually, it will ask you to put your iPhone near the Apple TV, so that I can get all of the information from your iPhone and help you do the set up. The other problem is switching the input on the TV remote. You want to make sure you’re on the right input with the Apple TV is. You might try pressing it and then flicking your finger across the trackpad on the top to see if the Apple TV makes any noise to let you know that you were on the right input. I’m assuming you press the top button on the right on the Apple TV control to turn the Apple TV on. So the top right button on the Apple TV is on and off. It’s just above the volume up and down button. Hope this helps.
